Ellen Terpstra provides clients with strategic advice on food and agricultural policy issues, particularly international trade, development matters and market access support. Ellen has more than 30 years experience dealing with global food and agricultural systems. She is an experienced trade negotiator.
Ellen Terpstra served as President and CEO of the International Food and Agricultural Trade Policy Council (IPC). She was Deputy Under Secretary for International Activities at the US Department of Agriculture and Administrator of its Foreign Agricultural Service. In that capacity, she managed the USDA’s bilateral trade relations with many countries and participated in the Doha agriculture negotiations.
Earlier in her career, she consulted with Greenberg Traurig’s Washington, D.C. international trade practice and headed two US trade associations, the USA Rice Federation and the US Apple Association. She began her career on Capitol Hill working for various members as well as the Congressional Research Service.
Ellen Terpstra is a graduate of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and continued her studies in economics at the graduate level at Georgetown University.
